Cosmetic Tattooing Microblading FAQ

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a type of cosmetic tattooing. It is a manual method where pigment is inserted into the skin in hair-like strokes so the results are natural looking and beautiful. This is a common technique, but it is not always suitable for everyone. A natural look can still be achieved with other techniques, which is something we will help you decide!

Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?

Pain varies per person. A topical anesthetic (numbing gel) is used, but some discomfort should be expected. Most people say it’s not as bad as they thought it would be and they expected worse. Some even fall asleep!

How do you choose the color?

Colors are custom blended for each client. Natural skin tone and hair color are both taken into consideration. Care is taken to ensure that the color is not too dark or too light.

For lips, colors range from light/natural to bright/vibrant. Colors may be limited based on your natural color. Book a consultation to learn more!

How long does cosmetic tattooing last?

This varies per client. There are many factors to consider such as skin type, sun exposure, skin health, etc. Depending on the technique, touch ups are recommended annually for brows and every 3 years for lips. Fading can occur anywhere from 6-36 months. No guarantees can be made of the longevity due to the factors listed above.

Why does it cost so much?

Only the highest quality pigments and supplies are used to ensure the best possible results. You are also paying for a skilled artist who continues to invest in new training courses and stay up to date on the latest techniques. We encourage people to base their decision more on the artist and quality of work versus the price – however, we offer exceptional work and service at a competitive price.

How do I know which brow technique is right for me?

The technique is recommended by the artist so that you get the best possible results! There are factors that the average person will not know to look for such as hair density, hair pattern, skin type, activity level, lifestyle, and many more. These are all important when deciding on the technique, so are taken into consideration when recommending the right technique for you.
